1lb off!!
To say I'm disappointed is an understatement.....totally bloody FURIOUS would be more apt. Now I know 1 off is better than 1 on, a loss is a loss and yes, yes I realise I’m on the right track but seriously HOW annoying after all that effort........I can gain 3lbs in a day yet it takes a week to lose 1lb.
Still working the no booze thing and cooking from scratch, had 2 meals out but was seriously angelic, a lot of salad at both.
I guess that there’s just no rhyme or reason to weight loss. I have to start believing that as long as I stick to the plan then I will at some point start to shift a decent amount of weight (please baby cheeses give me a pill so that I can wake up tomorrow slim!)
Anyway, anyway, anyway....I neglected to post this up last week. I made a beetroot risotto which was tres good. So I will take my moaning away and let you look at pictures of my Masterchef cooking! (Ha!)
Cubed beets. The shameles clashing of chopping board and knife! |
Rice and red onion having a mingle |
Stock and beets added, I wanted it to be more pink though |
The finished artical, was actually a lot better than it looks. I say YEAY for beetroot risotto |
So will blog again soon! Onwards and downwards Pickles xx
your cooking looks lovely dont let the small loss get you down, it is better than nothing and be careful when you are eating out that salads dotn have any extra hidden syns etc. good luck with rest of weight loss.

your fatal mistake was going to the gym. the gym makes you fat, I swear to god. if you insist on exercise, a 20 min walk 3 x a week is all you need. yeah low carb requires persistence, after the initial weight loss you kind of level off and lose the rest gradually - but less painfully than doing a calorie counting thing. anyway seriously... stop going to the gym. x
ReplyDeleteHmm... I think I might write a blog... Never done it before... Will look into it!
ReplyDeleteIn the mean time... Just remember this very important fact:
1LB of fat = 3500 calories...
To lose one 1LB of fat in a week, you need to eat 3500 calories less.
To lose 2LBS of fat in a week, you need to eat 7000 calories less. That is the same as eating 1000 less calories EACH DAY!!!!
If you've ever kept a diary of food (I use Nutracheck.co.uk) and log 1000 calories worth of food, you'll be very disapointed indeed. It's hardly enough to keep a flea alive. That's where the exercise comes in.
You either need to eat 1000 calories less each day, or burn 1000 more calories in the gym (and that's a LONG gym session believe me!).
So, mix it up! It still boils down to the simple equation of eat less, do more, and if you ask me, the eating less is WAY more important than dying in the gym!! But even if you can manage to burn just 400 calories in the gym (20 mins of moderate pace on a rower, and 20mins on the bike) and eat 1200 calories a day, then there's no reason why you can't make 2lbs a week.
KEEP UP THE GOOD WORK THOUGH! As you say, any loss is a good loss!! :o)
Esther - 20 mins walking 3 times a week....that’s sound infinitely better that hours and hours in the horrific sweat box....Ok I'm going to a test. Next week I shall do the walking and see the difference. Good plan.
ReplyDeletePumpkin - Thank you, I trying to remember not to get bogged down with the small things...can't be 6lbs every week huh. How are you doing?
Ben - I just read your blog. Awwww! Keep posting.
